BEAR KICKS ITS FEET UP IN NORTHERN MANITOBA GARBAGE DUMP
Bears are from the wild, but one in northern Manitoba is making itself feel at home somewhere else.
On a trip to the garbage dump in Lac Brochet earlier this year Mandy Stantic spotted a black bear relaxing on a couch someone left there.
“It looked like he was chilling, waiting for some popcorn,” Stantic told Global News.
She quickly snapped a few pictures from the safety of her vehicle only a few metres away.
“It was one of those things, once in a blue moon kind of shot, with leg crossed and the paw on the arm rest,” Stantic said. “It’s pretty neat.”
She said it isn’t unusual to see bears at the garbage dump just outside of the community. On that day she estimates there were upwards of six.
“It’s not too typical you would see them relaxed like that though,” she said.
